Holy Cow!!!

Post  jpierce575 on Tue Mar 25, 2014 11:00 am

I learned a valuable lesson today.   NEVER EVER let a stealer change your oil.   23

I let them change it last time because they had the Voyager to change the rear tire.  I almost didn't get the filter off.  I managed to destroy the old one and still almost didn't get it off.  They had it on so tight that the gasket was smashed completely flat.  I had to take a hammer and chisel to break it loose.

Hope they didn't over-torque the drain plug too.  Evil or Very Mad

They both came out relatively easy.  There was a sealing washer missing from one of them though.  Evil or Very Mad

I wouldn't worry about it, I just wanted to get the break in oil out of mine.  crkpipe

I had to do that to the filter on my wing once. I will NEVER run a cheap Supertech filter from WalMart again. Tried to save 5 bucks. What a mistake that was. Never had a problem with a Honda filter and put them on the same way.

Greg, I think a VTX would run with 60K on an oil change.

I've got 100,000 and 7 years on a battery and a brand new one sitting on the bench so this one will keep on going.

But I am getting about the same MPG as the VTX got.  Wink

By the way Greg I just saw that DLP is having a 15% off sale on batteries.

If you guys only get 34 to 38 MPG, then how the hell do you go 200 miles on one tank?  I get about 36 to 38 and if I went 200 miles then I would be sucking fumes.  affraid

Just cruizin' and taking it easy under 70mph I can get almost 40mpg.
Usually it's about 37-38mpg.

That's about what I got on the VTX after opening up the airbox and doing the SCAR mod.

I guess it's about time to modify my tank to hold 6.5 gallons so I can run with the big dogs.  grn

Jamie, that thing would be so "top heavy" you would swear you were riding a vtx1800.

Well, I can't have that!!!!! Really it isn't as top heavy as it looks right now.
